Arrifana

Arrifana, Aljezur, which was once a small fishing community, manages to blend fishing with its new-found vocation as a tourist attraction.

Its privileged location in the midst of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina Natural Park allows the visitor to enjoy stunning panoramic views and a wide bay with a beach of close to 500m of sand. Arrifana is sought after due to its waves but nonetheless people come to calmly observe the beautiful nature and next to the fortress the view is perhaps one of the most beautiful along the whole Costa Vicentina. On a good day one can see as far as Cape Sardão to the North or over the Atlantic waters to Pontal da Carrapateira (to the South).
